Account Deletion
This page explains how to delete your Potato Book account and what happens to your data when you do.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account
Option 1 — Delete through the app
1. Open Potato Book and sign in.
2. Tap the settings icon on the main screen.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page.
4. Under the section labelled Danger Zone, tap Delete Account.
5. Follow the on-screen steps depending on your account status (see below).
If you have an active paid subscription
When you tap Delete Account, you will see a message letting you know that you have an active
PotatoBook Pro plan. To avoid being charged again, you will need to cancel your subscription first.
Tap Manage Plan to go to your subscription settings, cancel your plan, and wait for the current billing
period to end.
Once the subscription is no longer active, you can return to Settings and complete the
account deletion.
This applies to Monthly and Annual Pro plans. For Lifetime plans, since there are no future renewal
charges, you may still be asked to confirm before deletion proceeds.
If you do not have an active paid subscription
You will see a Final Warning screen that lists exactly what will be removed:
• All budget data
• Expense history
• Friend connections (Family and Friends feature)
Tap Delete Everything to confirm. Your account and all associated data will be permanently removed.
Option 2 — Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have access to the app or are unable to complete deletion through it, email us at:

Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request
Please include the phone number associated with your
Potato Book account so we can locate and remove
your data. We will process your request within 7 business days and confirm by email once it is done.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, the following are permanently removed from our systems:
• Your account profile, including your name, phone number, and email address if provided
• All budget entries and expense records you have added
• Your full transaction history
• Any Family and Friends connections linked to your account
What we retain after deletion
Your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of the deletion being processed. We may retain
anonymised, non-identifiable data (data that cannot be linked back to you in any way) for fraud prevention
and legal compliance purposes beyond that period.
We do not retain your financial entries, profile information, or account credentials after the 30-day period.
